Help us build the assurance layer for identity automation.
We are building Assay for teams that need to understand, govern and defend the automation running around identity systems. We are small by design, moving carefully, and interested in exceptional people before we have a formal role for them.
Where we actually are
The product starts with Okta Workflows and is being designed as a common assurance engine for enterprise identity platforms. The analysis engine works. The first engagements are underway. There is no outside funding and no intention to raise before the business supports itself.
That means we will hire slowly, from revenue, and only where the work genuinely cannot wait. We would rather tell you that plainly than run a hiring pipeline for roles that do not exist.
The first roles, in order
Identity automation engineer
Deep hands-on IAM, plus at least one of SailPoint, Saviynt, Microsoft Entra ID, CyberArk or IBM identity. You would extend the control library and build the next platform collector. Reverse-engineering an undocumented format should sound like a good day rather than a bad one.
Assurance and reporting lead
Audit or GRC background. You would own the control library, the methodology, and the language of the signed report — making findings precise enough that a customer cannot dispute them and plain enough that a board can read them.
Partner and channel
Building the MSP and delivery-partner network, where one relationship reaches dozens of tenants. Suits someone who has sold through partners rather than around them.
Speculative
If you have read this site and think we are wrong about something specific — the methodology, the positioning, what the format can and cannot tell you — we would like to hear it whether or not a role exists.
How we intend to work
Remote, with real overlap
The team is based in Pune and works remotely. We expect a few hours of overlap each day rather than fixed office hours, and we write things down instead of holding meetings about them.
Evidence over opinion
The product exists because we would rather show a customer an honest gap than a green tick they cannot rely on. We hold ourselves to the same standard internally.
Small on purpose
We are not trying to be large. A specialist firm doing one thing precisely, for people who need it, is the goal — not a headcount chart.
No unpaid trials
If we ask you to do real work as part of hiring, we pay for it at a fair rate. Take-home exercises that produce something we could use are work.
Expression of interest
Tell us what you could build at Assay.
We may not have an open position for your exact profile today. That should not stop a good conversation. Share your background, what you are unusually good at, what you would like to own, and your resume.
